I'm Sam, a passionate chess player, coach, and blockchain enthusiast. I combine my love for chess with a desire to teach, create, and inspire others through the game and the Hive community. Chess has shaped how I think, learn, and share both on the board and beyond it.

I learned to play chess in school as a 10-year-old in high school. I was always a star student, and I applied the same curiosity and diligence to chess. Before long, I became my high school's top player and later my state's top, competing nationally and winning numerous gold medals.

During my time at university, I kept excelling, winning gold and other medals for the Nigerian University Games and the West African University Games. 2015 was a highlight year when I became the National Under-16 Champion, the youngest ever.

I have attained a chess rating nearly 2000 Elo, which positions me within the top 15% of rated players globally, as recognized by the World Chess Federation. I've also won an open event with FIDE Masters, Women FIDE Masters, and International Masters participating.
